Travel insurance is more important than ever before and the situation is completely different than in 2020. Since Covid-19 is no longer considered an "unexpected" covered event, insurance will not cover fear of Covid or its variants, or changes in Government travel warnings and restrictions; only CFAR (Cancel for Any or No Reason) will provide partial reimbursement and that is only with select policies purchased at the same time as the initial trip payment.
Cancellation insurance will still cover reimbursement of nonrefundable payments if you are hospitalized for any reason prior to departure, or if a positive PCR (only PCR) test confirmed same day by a medical professional denies you boarding your flight. Medical policies will cover hospital expenses including Covid during your trip and some coverage for delays caused by isolation. Air Ambulance memberships will bring you back to your home if you are hospitalized (Medjet) or quarantined (Covac Global). There are terms and conditions that need to be read.
Without insurance, please consider all prepayments to suppliers as 100% nonrefundable if cancelled within the cancellation deadline. Flights are an exception as we usually have a credit from 1 year from date of original ticket issue.
Manditory
Travel Insurance is now manditory for all trips with nonrefundable elements. Flights, and services where a credit is offered if you cancel are not considered nonrefundable and are therefore not insured. As a quick estimate, add 10% for insurance to the sum of your nonrefundable deposits. If you have alternative coverage, that is fine. If you decline the insurance offered you by Roger Kershaw, however, you must sign an Insurance Waiver.

You are NOT eligible for coverage if:
Covid-19 Concerns
Testing Positive for COVID (all providers)
Prior to Departure :: A positive test MUST be diagnosed/confirmed by a physician PRIOR to the trip departure date/time and PRIOR to canceling any plans or making a claim. A self-administered home test does not qualify as a valid reason to cancel a trip and make a claim.
While Traveling :: Requires a diagnosis by a physician. If you or a traveling companion contract coronavirus while traveling, and it is diagnosed by a physician, you could be eligible for trip interruption, trip delay, emergency medical and medical evacuation coverage up to the daily and total limits specified by the policy purchased.
