Moab to Glenwood Springs.

Enjoy a downtown walkabout visit to Moab, “The Scarlet City,” as we prepare to depart around 2:00 PM on our scenic adventure of colorful archways and amazing rock formations. We’ll enjoy about 5 hours aboard the luxurious Rocky Mountaineer and a signature cocktail as we cross the Colorado state line and view the stunning red rock cliffs of Ruby Canyon along the Colorado River, passing Mount Garfield, Mount Logan, and Parachute Creek as we enter our midpoint of Glenwood Springs around 7:00 PM. Here we disembark and reminisce about your day in the comfort of your cozy hotel room.
Glenwood Springs is a resort city in Colorado known for its hot springs. It sits in the rugged Rocky Mountains, surrounded by the vast White River National Forest. Hotel Colorado The “Rockies to the Red Rocks” route makes an overnight stop in the geothermal hot spot of Glenwood Springs. Selected to extend the exceptional onboard travel experience, Rocky Mountaineer is partnering with Hotel Colorado. located conveniently close to the historic train depot. After debarking, passengers can stretch their legs and get a feel for the town with a short walk to the hotel via the Grand Avenue Pedestrian Bridge that spans the railroad tracks, Colorado River and Glenwood Hot Springs Resort while providing elevated views of downtown. Meals included: Guests will be provided an afternoon snack and dinner later in the day (+beverage service throughout the day). |

Glenwood Springs to Denver

We’ll return to our train for a two-course hot breakfast around 9:00 AM, and head northeast for another day of extraordinary views. We’ll tour along the Colorado river through the equally picturesque Gore Canyon and Byers Canyon, and celebrate crossing the Continental Divide with a sparkling wine toast while cutting through 6.3 miles of mountain in the Moffatt Tunnel, dining on the three-course regionally inspired lunch as hosts captivate us with stories of the region. We’ll exit the tunnel alongside Gross Reservoir, unique in that its 440 acres of surface area sit on the eastern side of the Continental Divide but is fed with water through the Moffatt Tunnel from the western side.
We’ll arrive in Denver at about 5:00 PM, disembark, and, if you’re spending the night with the group, join us for an optional farewell evening of dinner, drinks and fun in this, the Mile High City. Meals included: Guests will be served a morning meal and lunch later in the day. (+beverage service throughout the day). |
